S&P Fundamentals as of May 30, 2009

S&P 500 Fundamentals (5/30/2009): The S&P’s median EV/EBITDA multiple is 7.2 with 50% of observations falling between 6.6 and 7.8.  The median Forward PE multiple is 13.4 with 50% of observations falling between 12.4 and 14.6,while the median Forward PEG multiple is 1.3 with 50% of observations falling between 1.2 and 1.5.  Median EPS growth expectations for the current year are -9.7%, with 50% of issues expected to do between -19% and -2.7%.  The long-term (~5yr) EPS growth expectation is 10% vs. EPS growth of 9.5% for the previous 5yrs.  For more detail, please see the charts below and the formatted PDF attached, which includes data tables.
